A LETTER FROM THE PARTNERS
Although we make our living assisting clients purchase real estate, we urge them to do their homework before making a decision to buy in Ecuador. Whether you are considering becoming a resident of Ecuador, establishing a second home or simply investing in the country’s real estate, realize you will be interacting with a new culture, different rules and a language that is probably not your native tongue. Although you may be enticed by Ecuador's low cost of living and the fact that real estate costs a fraction of what you would probably pay in your native country, a decision to invest in Ecuador should be based on much more than money. This is a country of breathtaking beauty and astonishing cultural and ecological diversity. Read all you can about Ecuador. Talk to people who have lived and visited here. And, by all means, plan to spend as much time as possible exploring the country.
If you are considering the purchase of real estate, be sure you understand the process of buying property in Ecuador. Please read the information about how we work --covering tour fees and commissions-- on our Services link. We will be happy to answer your questions and to refer you to experts when we don't have the answers.
We love Ecuador and believe that you will too after you have done your due diligence. We would love to have the opportunity to help you buy proerpty here, but we also want you to fully understand the adventure that you will be embarking upon.
One last bit of advice. If you plan to spend a significant amount of time in Ecuador, sign up for an intensive Spanish course. There are several excellent language programs in Cuenca and we will be happy to recommend one to you.
